| ECDF will upgrade our Eleanor compute cloud to a newer version of OpenStack from the 17th of November. The user facing disruption will be an outage of Horizon for two brief periods and some VMs will need to be shut down and restarted if live migration fails. ECDF will notify the project owners if this is the case. The work will proceed as: preparation of new container + OS updates on the management nodes, followed by updates on the hypervisor and live migration of VM's to new hypervisors, and at this point there will be a restart of the network stack on each hypervisor that will cause a very short (<60s) connectivity drop to VM's. Work on the back-end storage will take place w/c 1st Dec. | Low |
